Local Area Update

Dear Resident please see below a weekly update of incidents/crimes/good outcomes in relation to the Benfieldside, Blackhill, Bridgehill and Shotley bridge area over the last week.

Local Update 24th April - 29th April:

On Sunday 29th April police received a call from Fire Services at 2150hrs about a suspicious fire at the allotments to the rear of Blackhill Comrades Club. A crime of Arson has been created and is currently under investigation. CCTV has captured youths in the area prior to the fire with a petrol can. If anyone has sighted anything or has any information in regards to the incident, please contact Durham Police on 101 and quote crime no. CRI00678485.

On Tuesday 28th April a report was received about a group of 4 youths aged 12-14yrs old have pushed the boarding on the windows of St Aidans Church and went inside the derelict building. An area search was conducted by response officers and conducted an area aearch with no trace of the youths. If anyone has sighted anything or has any information in regards to the incident, please contact Durham Police on 101 and quote incident reference DHM-28042026-0426.
